One of my personal favorite works, Cortona Corner was displayed at my senior art show, and has been the piece that most often generates a conversation. While I stayed in the Tuscan town of Cortona, I enjoyed walking down each and every historic street. At the edge of town I noticed this house, which stood at such a sharp angle in comparison to the steep street that led back to town. The house stood at the very corner of the last road in town, and to its left was a small stone wall which overlooked the valley and Tuscan countryside. I spent at least forty hours working on this piece, but eventually stopped counting. I simply enjoyed drawing every little detail in the old Etruscan stone walls, and painting each and every little leaf and piece of ivy that crawled up the side of the home. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do!
